Healthy Super Bowl Wings

February 3, 2019

I'm not quite sure why it has taken me this long to write a blog about my favorite wings recipe but I was inspired to after I saw what they were selling in the supermarket this weekend. You walk into the local supermarket and EVERYTHING seems to be buy one-get-one. I've always been taught that a deal is only a deal if you NEED it. Trust me when I say, these processed foods are NOT what you need!

If you're not going to follow my recipe please at least do the following -- do not consume anything that has corn syrup, maltodextrin, sucralose, etc. Basically, if it ends with an "ose" chances are it's fake food and/or it's a sugar.

Now, if you're willing to buy minimal ingredients, a few spices and chances are you already have Frank's Hot Sauce in your house then THIS is the recipe for you and those Super Bowl fans!

PS: This recipe is GLUTEN FREE and will be a crowd pleaser for everyone! Plus, you get to channel your inner child that loved helping Mom out with the Shake-N-Bake meal. No? Just me?

Ingredients:

4 Tbsp Franks Hot Sauce
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. paprika
1 lb. chicken
1 teaspoon sea salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
3 tablespoons virgin coconut oil
3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon onion powder

Extras for dipping:

Nonfat Plain Greek Yogurt

Celery

Carrots

Directions:

Throw all ingredients into a bag and shake the chicken until covered. Cook In the oven for 30 minutes on 400! You can make a side dish of plain Greek Yogurt mixed with hot sauce for dipping!
